Finally, an update

This is the first night in weeks I've sat on the couch and actually relaxed in the evening. We're mostly settled into my parents' new house. It's beautiful and there's a ton of space, so everyone is pretty happy. Living on base in DC, I was already used to a good deal of driving, so the distance hasn't been too bad. We're definitely out in the desert! Of course it seriously sucks to be away from Josh AGAIN, but we're managing. He's doing well in Maryland...a bit lonely, but learning a lot at the new job. He'll be here Friday night, spend Saturday with us, then drive out to Colorado on Sunday. So, lots of random pictures from the last two weeks...
Jack flipping some play-doh pancakes...
Super excited about playing baseball in his new "fast" tennis shoes. And why wouldn't he be shirtless and covered in stickers?Doesn't Annika look beautiful? Here we are at her baby shower...less than a month to go!Henry and Uncle Robbie...Happy Birthday Grandma!!Can't help but love the cheesy smiles...Jack very generously sharing some ice cream with little bro. I guarantee Jack wasn't given such a treat at 10 months!Jack and Josh talking on the webcams. I think Jack was making a list of some kind as they chatted. Doesn't his hair look red here?I'm assuming this happens around this time in every family with two or more children. Henry is mobile, he wants what Jack has, Jack wants what he has and neither is shy about snatching. Sadly, it's usually Henry who is left empty-handed and even more sad is that he hardly notices anymore! Jack has started taking things over to a couch, where he knows he can buy a little time alone. Here he is working on sorting stacking boxes.Jack is loving helping Papa with projects around the house. He has totally fallen in love with ladders, especially the new really tall one. Here they are assembling new bar stools. Dad said Jack told him, "this is pretty tricky".

Poor little Henry. He hasn't had many "well" days since before we left DC and that's on top of the teeth that just won't come thru. We experienced the exact same thing with Jack when we moved here two years ago. Must be a combo of all the excitment, change of weather, allergies, house, etc. He woke up this morning with a new cold and new fever. Luckily, thanks to forcing a strict schedule the past few days, he is almost back to normal as far as sleep goes. We'll see about tonight. At least he had some corn on the cob to gnaw on tonight :) Cute messy rib face...

Hi Dana! I'm so glad you all are settled, as well as can be. The kids look great. Jack's hair does look very red in that picture! And Henry, it's hard to see from the pics how hard he's had it, thank goodness! Hopefully, time will fly until you make that final move to Colorado.
