Fall Happenings

Henry, our little builder.  He got shy here and knocked it over, but he was building a house with  crayons.

Dirty little boys love their little sister.  Both are getting much better at holding her.

We had a good snow a week or two ago.  The boys  threw on coats and went out in pj's right away.  Unfortunately, I didn't realize until too late that my memory card wasn't in the camera.  Here's one of Bailey though!  Kiko won't go near the stuff, but Bailey gets as excited as the kids.  As I write this we're waiting for a big storm, so we shall see if we get a snow day tomorrow.  I bought Jack some new (fitting!) snow pants today, just in case.

See those TWO little teeth on the bottom??
Rice cereal!  Can't believe my baby is old enough.  She's 6 months tomorrow.  I'm not in a huge hurry to get her going on food, but we've been offering plain brown rice cereal with breast milk for a couple days.  She maybe gets a 1/4 of a teaspoon down.  I've been a baby food making fool though.  Our CSA just ended, but we were getting so much, I decided to start pureeing and freezing.  I ordered a ton of local pears and apples last week, so did those too.  It's a lot of work, but I do enjoy it.  Nora will too, of course.  Feels good to know she'll be eating fresh, healthy food grown by good people right down the street!

First bites...not so sure...but she would like to have the spoon.

Tell me this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen!!  I'm so glad we decided to say no to pirates for Halloween.  We told them they needed to be good guys and they chose super heroes.  They have no real knowledge of what a super hero is, but they've been pretending to be them for a while now.  We got them a book with a couple Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman stories.  They were actually scared of them at first, but request it constantly now and are picking up on all the cool super-powers.  I'm happy to report they just might like Wonder Woman and her powers best of all.  So, I found a cute shop on Etsy and ordered them these capes.  One of our best purchases ever!  They have already provided hours of great imaginative play.  You know I'm not in to characters much, but this seems different for whatever reason, so I'm all for it.  Until they start getting too rowdy of course.

Precious little munchkin sitting up...using Bailey for a little extra support.  She's not sturdy enough to set on the wood floor by herself, but her balance is pretty good.

A few days later she likes it a bit more.  She even started deliberately opening her mouth when I  brought the spoon toward  her.
