We're sitting here surrounded by our home in boxes and feeling quite excited about what lies ahead. We leave behind good friends and 4 years worth of great memories, but it's definitely time to move on. It'll be hard not to miss DC. How nice to step out our front door and walk along the Potomac with the Washington Monument, Capital and Pentagon in view. And I'm pretty sure we'll never pass by the White House on the way to the zoo again! But, we're trading all that in for a gorgeous Colorado mountain view (from our backyard!), a beautiful house that's ours and new adventures. Best of all though, we will never again ship Josh off to spend 6 months on the other side of the world!
The boys and I fly to Arizona on Saturday to spend a few weeks with my parents while our house in Colorado is being built. Josh will follow behind with the car and dogs, spend some time in AZ with us, then start his new job August 31st. So, while we will be apart for a bit, it doesn't seem nearly as bad this time. Not much to be sad about, thankfully :)
